I really appreciate this perspective. The 'I go to home and away' subtext is spot-on and a sentiment I encounter a lot as an overseas fan as well. It's like (if this isn't too glib) the Great Replacement Theory of Spurs fandom: an old guard threatened by a broader fanbase with different views.

When I was going to every game the commitment felt more - 2 hours of travel before and after the game whatever the weather and the pure emotion of it all felt like it mattered more.
But it didn’t make me more of a fan.
If I won the lottery tomorrow I would get an executive box and attend every match but I’m not sure a lottery win makes me a better supporter.
But nobody is going to think that because they are judging purely on looks. I have never given a shit about who is sitting around me - I’m there to watch my team.
I hate half and half scarves.
Seeing them sold every year at NLD and chelsea. WTF? Just no. I'm generally tolerant but those things just boil my blood..
Always thought it was only the chancers outside the game flogging the "matchday scarves" not the actual club. That's mental.
Saw someone with one on at NLD in South stand and some geezer ripped it off and threw it on the floor (to much applause)
I do however value my ST, it means a lot to me and my family. Being prohibitively priced out cos its more lucrative to spurs to sell my ticket to elsewhere is a red flag for me.
I did wonder why they’d spent £30 on a ticket and didn’t even know the rules.
