National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) payouts (losses) from Hurricane Helene have reached $3B and growing. Florida accounts for $2.9B (!) of this total.
This data confirms that extremely low NFIP take-up rates in inland areas means the vast majority of residential flood losses were uninsured.
