I haven’t been genuinely blown away by a transit line before riding Ottawas Line 2 today. It’s frequent and modern, and requires little infrastructure versus current GO rail, this is the exact model we should use in the GTHA for non-mainline GO services. - ThreadSky

In terms of value for money I like it. But I hesitate to praise it too much, as it feels unfinished. It seems we will have to shut it all down again in a few years to double-track and electrify it, and we’ll wonder why we didn’t do that in the first place.

It’s very frustrating that GO stations have reached the point where they’re half a billion dollars each for simple at-grade stations. I don’t know what could be cut but they should be tens of millions, not hundreds.

Building something like the O-Train Trillium line should be built between Guelph and Stratford via Kitchener, potentially also a branch between Guelph and Cambridge
