Based on the tail number of the plane, the make of this model is twin CRJ 900. The same aircraft that has the one that had the mid air collision with the Blackhawk helicopter in Washington DC. Just getting this information from CBC news live in Canada.

Wrong. Normal jet descent rate is 700-900 fpm on a 3degree path. Tailwind/high ground speed can cause excursions over 1000fpm. If it was 1200fpm or more I’d call that high.

This CRJ-900 was operated by Endeavor Air as Delta Connection. Endeavor is a wholly owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines.

Delta has issued a statement but doesn't confirm anything beyond acknowledging the incident: "Delta is aware of reports of Endeavor Flight 4819 operating from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Toronto-Pearson International Airport as involved in an incident. Delta Connection flight 4819."

You're right. Descent should be +/- 700 FPM, and less than 100 FPM on touchdown. That may not be a factor. The best early analysis of any incident is always by Juan Brown at Blancolirio channel on YouTube
