Tho that doesn't change the fact I think we should be able to have an open discussion about the socio-economic, health and ecological consequences of how our technology functions today
The tool itself doesn't bother me. It's how we are using it and how we assume "because we can, we should" when new tech gives us new capabilities.
This tech needs to be legislated imo.
When the printing press came along, MLK used it to dismantle the catholic church's power π and... to instigate pogroms against jews π It's how we use it.

Since "my attention" is a thing I have that orgs care about, I block orgs that utilize AI on site. I don't interact with their posts. I don't buy their stuff.

i don't know that our selectors or cataloguing folks know what to look out for, or even that they should.
