Spirit Airlines has filed for bankruptcy because of mounting losses and a failed JetBlue merger. The airline said it will continue to operate.

Never flew Spirit because of their infamous customer unfriendly reputation, charging for every little thing. The only way you could get to your destination for the advertised price was to board with nothing but your body and the clothes you were wearing.

I think the potential fallout with spirit airlines going out of business is that they're the like known bottom barrel service, but it's still a service for those who can't afford much or really do need to save on travel expenses

Exactly, but it made vacation packages deceptive. I actually got a better deal booking on my own than with my usual trip site. Because they wanted to force spirit, but that would cost more.

I'm planning a week long trip, not something I can backpack XD

Oh man. I tried. Asked for the supervisor and their names to report to customer service (which did nothing of course.) then they just tried to bully me and call for "backup" on their radios. I've never walk away so steaming mad. 😂
