Yeah but there's a chance I may run for office again so I'd rather have some sort of political party backing but if need be I could run independent. First RCV has to get passed here in Michigan
We welcome anyone with liberal values who is generally in alignment with our platform. We imagine left leaning Liberals will run in blue jurisdictions and right leaning Liberals will run in red jurisdictions etc. State parties have their own platforms. Here is ours: https://www.LiberalPartyUSA.org/platform
We are focused on running serious candidates with targeted policy reform goals, not ideological purity. ie: right now we encourage state affiliates to promote YIMBY policies to help with affordable housing issues. We have former left and right leaning libertarians as party of our coalition.
Our tent-pole issue is free movement/pro-immigration. So as long as you're pro-immigrant, come aboard! If you sign up to volunteer on our website we will get you in contact with other volunteers from Michigan, see if you have enough people to start your own state affiliate.
I'm loving this strategic mindset, ideology isn't very useful if you can't get anywhere with it. I definitely like this idea of targeted policy reform. It is one of if not the best way to build up coalitions.
I have ran for office before and would consider doing so again.
Thank you! We are a political party with shared values and a common direction toward reasonably limited government. That means different states will have different policy priorities, too. We'd love to see more passionate people such as yourself running for local office! :)

I am glad to hear there's quite the opposite of animosity towards someone who isn't a perfect "an"cap.
Any idea if y'all have any members in Michigan?
