This commission looks so outstanding :0👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I hope you don't mind the question, but what brushes you use for the coloring? And how is your process for the coloring? The coloring is so stunning and very similar like Evan's works
I have always wondered how Evan makes those colorings in her drawings that leave that 3d effect and with many bouncing lights, and seeing that other artists have managed to replicate her coloring is amazing, and I would like to learn to do it, most of the time I take references from her work and try
I can't really speak for Evan ofc, but I admit her holiday art is my favorite to examine, I've learned a lot from it. Lucky for you I made notes during the drawing process and still have the color palette I used (top to bottom, shadows, reflective light, highlights) and here's my brush too
Word of advice, evan style is amazing but not something you can replicate off the art alone.
I've learned more about how to get shading like hers by learning more on the "rules" of shading in art and how color theory works and now I have my own style quirks I enjoy.
I am very grateful for everything, these tips and notes are worth gold, and will help me a lot and you are very right in what you say, really thank you very much for taking the time to answer everything in detail, and sorry if the questions were very long. Also I love a lot her holiday art too 》
Hi! Not the artist but I'm also someone who study Evan's Style. Most important thing I discovered from her style that is actualy very easy to make, are those blue reflections over the shade of the character.
Just grabing some light blue colors and adding it over the shadows does the trick nicely
About the brushes, I don't use exactly the same ones as Evan nor is it necessary, just compare the stroke textures of your drawing program with the reference until you find something similar enough to work. Better if that brush has a default "opacity depends on pressure" thing
really cute! this piece came out really nicely- i love the coloured details, flexability and motion of the characters and the snowball thrown its a gorgeous piece!
