I'm not sure... there are lots of different pilot project and experimental options out there, but not many that can be readily sourced.

There have been shortages of fly ash lately so we weren’t sure if it was going to happen for this (relatively small) job - but it looks like they came through.

Fly ash is a byproduct of coal electricity production - so it will hopefully become increasingly scarce in the future - but we’ll need more, and better, options for low carbon concrete.

We’ve started trying to make this a standard spec for all of our jobs after experimenting with it as part of the city of vancouver’s embodied carbon incentive program.

Surprised they can still get Fly Ash. With coal power on the way out, fly ash is harder to come by.

Yeah, It's also a steel smelting byproduct, but there's not a ton of that happening locally either.
