Also, you can look up how much your state universities receive in NIH funds.
University of Kansas received $827K, plus $1.5 million for Alzheimer's research in 2023. The Medical Center received $27 million in 2022.

Here's a list of the top 100 medical schools in the US. Many of them are in red and purple states. You make the mistake that they care about their constituents. They don't. My one GOP senator hasn't had a town meeting or public appearance in a decade. She only gets reelected because the GOP machine dumps money into campaigns against whoever runs against her.

Here in Nebraska we lost a beloved young man recently from cancer - Jack Hoffman- he had an amazing TD run during a Husker spring game - I point out to all of them that he wouldn't have made it to 19 without cancer research.
