Since the late PS3/Xbox 360 era I thought graphical improvements were iterative at best, raytracing is the first thing since then to actually feel a substantive step forward.
need another big RPG with a good story to get hooked into, but it looks like avowed’s story is not that great—looking for recs on what I should be playing next
In terms of AAA open world RPGs, I had a lot of fun with Dragon's Dogma 2 recently. Metaphor: Refantazio was also real good if you like the Atlus shtick/turn-based RPGs
It's probably the closest we'll get to an open world Monster Hunter game. Killing big dragons and ogres and stuff is cool. The companion system feels a bit like babysitting but the combat was good enough for me to overlook its flaws
