Not sure cans are the best solution when people still litter. However glass bottles still remain the least of a litter issue.
Stick a 20p redeem scheme and encourage the kids to recycle, simples.

We have that in Vienna. First the tap water has a better quality then any bottled water, so no need for it. We got a Pipeline straight from the alps to the capital. Second, lots of stupid people buy plastic bottled water, which with the beginn of 2025 gets a 20-25cent return-charge, same for cans.
