COVID didn't just disappear, dude. It's still around. And it's still spreading and mutating. And, no, unless you get vaccinated against a specific disease or illness, you won't have any immunity to said disease/illness.

Indeed, vaccines are intended to make these viruses more manageable. Same case for flu vaccines. For the record, no one without a Polio vaccine is able to manage that sickness, so, yes, in many cases, especially bacterial infections, vaccines are immensely beneficial.
