They do not. Inmates and people under arrest must be fed. Federal law. Police departments lack kitchens and must rely on outside vendors. So that's what they do. I guess you'd rather the case be thrown out of court rather than give a guy a cheeseburger. I was in corrections 35 yrs.
Inmates must be fed, including those placed under arrest. That's a federal law. Police departments do not have kitchens to feed prisoners and rely on outside vendors. I know because I worked as a booking officer. I'm tired of this story being repeated as "special treatment. " .
And that's illegal. I'm not saying I agree or disagree. I worked corrections 35 years. There are laws against it, and eventually it will come back on you in the form of a lawsuit. People think it's like the movies. It's not.
Dude I wasn't a cop. I'm not defending anything. I'm pointing out that the Federal laws require prisoners be fed. Period. I worked corrections. Ever hear of the inmate Bill of Rights? Bet not.
Yeah? Who buys it? Who prepares it? Who packages it to distribute? The cops? Is it an inspected kitchen? Are they trained food handlers? Can't make them in your office. It's not as easy as you think it is. We're not talking jails. We're talking police departments. I spent 35 years in corrections.
You're still not making sense to me. Was Dylan held at a police station without holding cells? The story as I understand it is he was driven to a Burger King after capture. Unless that's standard, his situation is indeed special.
Every one thinks they're an expert in police and corrections. That we are giving them special treatment. We have to follow the laws. Whether it's food, protective custody, release, security levels, parole everyone is an expert. Go volunteer at a prison and find out the truth.
That's not what happened. He hadn't eaten in several days. A cop went out to the drive through without him to get food. The story has snowballed into this bs that they arrested him and went right to the drive through. Nope. What they did was standard operating procedure. Sorry you don't like it.
Yeah, you’re gonna have a hard time selling that to a society who has watched numerous white boys go through drive-thru’s and many more black boys go to morgues.
Sorry you’re so tired of folks talking about what we are seeing play out time and time again. 🤷♀️
Good lord, you think i haven't seen it? I worked in law enforcement and corrections for 35 years. You don't know the laws, the rules you have to follow to avoid lawsuits. Feeding suspects also makes them more likely to cooperate. Maybe in some backwoods towns it's a chucklefest.

The question she asked is if that’s who we were talking about, and it wasn’t.
The cops have a habit of buying dinner for white kids who shoot people.
Or could it be……. 🤷♀️🤫🤭
Although, I confess I didn’t know they bought Cryin’ Kyle burgers … only knew that they gave him water before he started his murder spree
That’s the entire point of the OP’s post.
Kyle got attaboys, Luigi gets marched into a cell by the mayor of New York City.
Sorry you’re so tired of folks talking about what we are seeing play out time and time again. 🤷♀️
