I have been thinking hard about that. I am ~10 years from retirement. Not many crashes haven't recovered in that time frame, but I am not confident this is a normal situation.

We had much the same discussion about the “usual” recession cycles. You’re probably right to consider the time frame. We obviously have four more years of ~this~ and who knows after that.

I do feel that an actual market crash is one thing that could get him out of office. Not many oligarchs going to be interested in backing him break the constitution for another term if their stocks are in the shitter. But I don't particularly care to be caught up in that myself.

The “Yes, but…” is getting a major workout these days. It was interesting to hear a major player kinda hemming and hawing about “rebalancing” with heavier foreign investments. I think/hope/pray they get to mine in time.
