If you've never listened to Springsteen's "Stray Bullet" (a studio outtake from 1980), you owe it to yourself to give it a listen. Spare, haunting lyrics performed with some of his best vocal work, and similarly spare instrumentation that dovetails perfectly with the poetry of the story.
