Hi my Australian Senior Citizens, I also am in my late 60s. I was forced into giving up my right to work before I wanted to because of an illness I believe was triggered from a workplace accident & the resulting stress it cause at the very end of 2019. I was not financially prepared to retire at the time my work life ended. Fortunately I did own a home, not a home that was worth much, but it was my home. Sadly my doctors knew my health & ability to manage my home was not only diminished but was not going improve. I was advised to make CHANGES. 2/3

I had to sell & find a more suitable place bc things would continue to diminish health wise. Selling then was not the best time financially, but that’s something I couldn’t change. Anyway I found a nice but basic village to buy into for my dog & I. Close to everything I need & to hospitals. 3/4

I don’t have health insurance, but the public system has been great. We now face an election, & I’m very afraid. I hear people complain about our government. I’m so afraid because they don’t really have a reason they can explain, they just seem to think their lives would be better without Labor. 4/5

I’ve asked them how this government let them down. All I hear is some vague whine about the cost of living. I ask them how their cost of living would’ve been lower under the LNP. They can’t explain that bc the truth is it wouldn’t have been different. Post pandemic the whole world faced a crisis 5/6

Truth is when the LNP lost the last election we were in major financial trouble. Trillions of dollars in debt. This government has turned that around. 2nd only to Canada the worlds most respected economists say our government has been amazing. Unlike other countries we had no recession. 6/7

Unlike other countries we had high employment that grew. We had a slow rise of inflation & it came down slowly, considering it had a 6 in front of it when Morrison was in control, it just was compounded because after the world had been shut down by Covid the shortages drove prices up further. 7/8
