TIP ONE: FOLLOW, FOLLOW, FOLLOW. First thing to know is there is no algorithm really. I see complaints about how the timeline is doomy and it can be A liberal and anti-musk echo chamber at first, but that's just the base timeline that the site is showing you. You need to craft your feed! (2/?)

Best way to do this is follow as many people as you can! Luckily bsky makes this easy with starter packs. Early on search for topics you're interested in and then "starter pack" and just click the button to follow all! This will start to shape your personal algo, the site wont do it for you! (3/?)

Another great way to follow people is using an extension like Sky Follower Bridge. You can use it to hook up your Twitter account and find profiles you followed on there, and I believe it works for other platforms too! (4/?)

TIP TWO: MODERATION. Bluesky is a vast platform with lots of different kinds of content, and that includes NSFW and lewd/pornographic content. In the settings of the app there are myriad options to shape your feed to your liking, with the ability to hide posts until u feel like looking at em 👀 (5/?)

TIP THREE: ENGAGE! Something I enjoy about this platform is its still got that energy of a new site that everyone is excited to post on, so folks tend to reply back often. This is a great way to find like minded people to follow, which will lead you to more profiles that suit your interests. (6/?)

Adding to this, a great way at to get follows on your profile is to be in a starter pack yourself! People are friendly, don't be scared to comment and ask to join starter packs that suit the interests that you post about! Ride the wave of enthusiasm and find cool groups. Speaking of posting...
