My general thoughts on AEW at the moment is that its a company fighting with itself at the moment. Each segment/match feels like it has completely different people behind the creation and approval behind it. The problem is that we know one person is approving all of it.

I like it in a general sense but I still think there should be an overall idea of cohesion. Overall, AEW has avoided feeling samey for its existence but in its best times, there has been a vision. There should also be more people willing to say hey, this kind of sucks when something isn't working.

What if they don't think it sucks? I'm in no way shape or form wanting to be argumentative, just curious. Loads of people being vocal about the Death Riders, most folks seem to agree they should pivot. But lots of people are enjoying it. Who takes precedence?

I think its up to them to decide at the end of the day. So far, they seem committed to seeing it through but crowds have been mostly mute on Deathriders stuff in the past month or so. The TV numbers lately have also dipped during their segments. I don't think thats the end all but it should matter.

I hear that. Yeah I was just curious after reading the "more people should speak up" and was like but what if they disagree? I'm not around ratings discourse anymore thankfully but I stopped giving segment numbers any salt when I saw Jericho/learning tree segments going up instead of down😭😂

I try to avoid it because people don't look at it in good faith for the most part online. I think it can tell you a lot when you look at it segment by segment. Looking at the behavior of the people who are watching week to week. I don't get the Jericho thing at all but his name pulls I guess lol.

After being on here 90% of the time instead of the other site I realized one day that I didn't know what they've been doing numbers wise & that realization, whew, incredible. I've grown to appreciate that other folks enjoy things I don't. It's easy to think I'm the only fan they should book for😂

Oh my God I don’t give a shit about the TV numbers. I think this is a thing that needs to die. Television numbers do not reflect people watching. Do you have live attendance you have DVR you have HBO Max you have pay-per-view revenue TV ratings are not indicative of success.

I did say its not the end all, be all. It is something that the people in the back should be looking at. They don't matter at all to my personal enjoyment but I'm talking about the people running the show, not me.

A sounding board would be a good idea yeah I agree but I think a major problem is that pro wrestling fans just don’t have the attention span of 20 years ago. We live in an age of now now now. People don’t give people time to make things work. We get two weeks and if it doesn’t work pull the plug.

I agree with that too! But in that vein, I think its up to the booker to keep their attention. There's too many other things viewers can be watching wrestling wise or otherwise. I stayed interested in the Deathriders story because the beginning was really cool but now it seems directionless.

I must see it differently. I think that AEW has done a great job intertwining a lot of characters and storylines, even if it’s been subtle.

The Deathriders storyline is still early, but I feel they need to expand beyond “protect Mox only” mode. Show some vulnerability….

I also think it’s fine having various challengers lose all while for ongoing them to step up their game, becoming more violent and exciting, as Mox has intended. With Cooe & JJ, now you’ve got experience vs violence.

The O-mega Powers vs Callis Family feud adds another top level storyline.

I’m just glad everything feels different but at any point, could come together if needed.

When you silence the outside chatter and focus on what is on TV only, it’s amazing how many great wrestlers there are and what they’re doing.

Hangman, Swerve/Ricochet, Hurt Syndicate, the women, etc.
