I'm always nervous and ready to apologize for it being terrible. and of course my 11yo has the most stringent standards about rice textures. makes me sweat 😂
Which you fully deserve to be. I, however, have at long last succumbed to the siren call of a rice cooker a neighbor gave me when she moved away, and I'm never going back.
We have an old iron pot that works perfectly for making stovetop rice. Two cups of rice, 4 cups of boiling water added, cover and heat for about 10 minutes and Bob's your Uncle. Works every time.
I'm still bummed that I messed up my last rice. I was making some arroz amarillo and added too much butter, washing out the saffron taste anf making it just... butter rice.
Which is nice and all, but not when you are wanting some good yellow rice
