If you're still referring to Trump voters as MAGAts then you and I don't have much to talk about I assure you and you should probably stay on your side of Bluesky.

Meta made this euphemism shit SO bad from all the trash AI moderation
You're right. Many of Trump's 2024 voters hear what he says and pick and choose what they believe which is fair, he's a liar more than anything. Can't relate, but I've heard more ignorant reasoning for voting.
Magats isn’t a cutesy term. It is referring to Republicans as the lowest of the low, as in maggots. It is also poetic. So I’ll keep using this word for the people I despise and you can call them Republicans.
I’m here to talk to people like adults. I’m 45, not some child. The Dems didn’t do well and should reflect on that. We had a big event give us a clue on what people are frustrated with. Kamala refused to step into that ring during her campaign.
It looks like this happened almost a month ago, but as I recall, someone with a lot of blue-wave emojis and so forth replied to her in a scoldy tone about resisting the MAGAts.
YES! And the constant shitposting and meming without adding to the conversation. The wit is weak and reductive. I've just started blocking even people I agree with, because constant outrage, without learning what to do better, can't be my setting.
Because if you're still using cutesy terms to refer to the fascist that we are fighting—MAGAT, TFG, Felon 45 etc—then you don't understand how serious shit is about to get. Thats why. You're probably just here for AI memes and team follow back. Those aren't my people
People still think calling him "Drumpf" and making jokes about small hands are gonna get under his skin enough to stop him from getting things done, if only we had some sort of historical record of that shit not doing a damn thing
I think there are a lot of people, including myself, who sometimes use these do avoid triggering attacks on Twitter. It may be a habit that takes a little time to fade on this site!
That's a great point. I've been calling different subgroups in the GOP by those terms, "tea pretenders," "banana Republicans," and "MAGAts" to kind of note what type of fascist they are. But that does sound dismissive of the damage they have and will continue to do. They are all dangerous fascists.
you’re supposed to understand that cutesy names significantly undermine your ‘he is an existential threat’ messaging and make you look deeply unserious
I think it's one of those things where it can mean both. Like "am I matter of fact my calling him the former guy, or am I calling him that fucking guy"
Either way it's still a cutesy acronym that detracts from the seriousness of the situation
You make a really good point, my friend. Maybe we had that luxury at one time (maybe!), but we are way past that point now. It embarrasses me to admit I have engaged in things like using his prisoner number to refer to him, likely in hopes of making this seem less terrifying. Thank you.
Not certain about other's but my reason for not directly using the name of the incoming president was to reduce the promotion of that name in The Algorithms... I suppose there is no way around that now.
This is a good point. I had thought the ones I used were more insulting than cute, but they were still euphemisms that allowed me to avoid confronting the gravity of the situation.
I don't see Republicans or Magats, they are both equal in my eyes.I will never back down from these feelings.I don't just use that term cause it's cute or I don't understand the assignment. You can still call them Magats and know what has been done and needs to be done.Hate the sin not the sinner
I can't speak for Imani, but I've never done it because it excuses their lack of humanity. These aren't bugs, animals, monsters -- they're humans just like we are and should be held to account, not given a cutesy name
Whole agreeing with you overall millions of people are upset, disgusted and scared. Our way of life. Our democracy and our values are changing. By calling out a name makes them feel better so be it.
Calling people names is infantile, and, popularized by Trump himself. Acting like the very fool you are criticizing is the epitome of foolishness. Miss me with that shit.
If you're still praying to an imaginary friend to assist in making things right in the world, you have not been paying attention to the fact that your imaginary friend has no interest in any of our worries or affairs of any sort ever. Time to unclasp the hands, open our eyes, and get to work.

Was it the annoyance at “Elonia?”
Thanks!
Republican administration
there are many ways, without using cutesy names
Stopping now.

Whether you openly support him or not, the policies and effects will be the same.
That is an important reality these people need to face before they rubberstamp his agenda. They are only useful until they're no longer needed.
