Why aren’t folks hearing you, Imani? As soon as I saw the fascist takeover of Twitter, I was GONE, despite my not insignificant presence. Folks need to listen! I’m not a Substack person, but there must be alternatives.

It's pretty messy and I have small amounts of patience for some folks with big audiences who have not worked out a way to affordably relocate somewhere else, but yea, if somebody is starting up from scratch these days there is 0 excuse to start there.

Same. None. I hear established ones with large subscriber bases of free or low cost subscribers have been difficult to move... but that does not apply to anybody starting from scratch. If you had 10s of 1000s of social media followers and decide today to start a newsletter, going Substack is WRONG
