You want to know why you don't see many old Autistic people? It's because, statistically speaking most Autistic people don't live past 60. Why? Autistic people face massive unemployment rates (up to 85%), the few who can work usually end up in "charity" jobs where they make less then minimum wage,

and the few that DO find reasonable paying work face massive debt, discrimination, and a lack of meaningful resources and accommodations. Many end up homeless, or locked away in facilities that take away their free will.

Most autistic people are perfectly able to hold a job, go on dates, own a home, play sports, or do more, but are denied the chance to do so because the accommodations they need to navigate a society built for allistic people are not there.

Him describing autism as an epidemic, saying he will find "the cause" (it's genetics, we know this already), and everything else paint a very grim picture for where this country is heading for autistic people like myself.
