My anecdotal experience before the election was that people just didn’t understand how tariffs work. What we are seeing now is people slowly understanding how inflationary his policies are.

I'm talking about the people who actually do exist who knew how tariffs work and how stupid the plan was and voted for him anyway, because they assumed he was lying and wouldn't really do it, which means they voted for him having no idea what his plan was.

They bounced between "it's just a negotiating tactic, they'll buckle before he does it" and "it'll stimulate business here." The "they'll pay for it! Not us!" crowd finally figured it out so that's not as prevalent anymore. Check your feeds - you may (smartly) avoid the bulk of MAGA nation.
