I wish this was more widely known. A local posted pictures of individual protestors in our city's sub-reddit, and I and another who commented caution are being downvoted to hell and called fear mongers. π I know, such is reddit.
Wear masks. Don't talk to the cops. Cover any tattoos or stand-out scars. Tuck your hair under a hood or cap if you can.
The less distinguishing features they can see on you, the better. There's a reason some people go covered completely head to toe with gas masks and hoods on.
Wear as little branded stuff as possible, hat and mask if you have them. In short none of your usual wardrobe, stay safe, careful, peaceful and anonymous
Reminder to hide your eyes as much if not more than your face. Cops can tell a lot from your eyes and the area around them so that's the most important part to cover up (but obviously mask up, wear non-revealing clothing, etc).
Shout out to the giant bearded guy with the neck tattoo and fuck trump hoodie who did NOT take the bait to get into a fist fight with the lone counter protester.

if the phone has a lockdown mode (requiring passcode to unlock, no biometrics), using it if you get arrested deals with some of the cons
