I first read Nation, a stand-alone book, not part of the Discworld series, and was hooked. Then read the whole series of 42 books in two years. ❤️’d them. Was in tears at his passing as I read the last book. Yes. But what a legacy. Truly a legend.
Vividly remember reading this passage when Jingo came out in paperback, and it stayed with me for years.
Bloody hell, they were halcyon days, and we didn't even know it.
Look where we are now... 😥😭😭😭
Jingo is so clever, and very relevant today.
Just think, to sort out the world's problems we just need Captain Carrot and a football. Plus Sam Vimes and Nobby in drag.
There were some pretty good quotes in 'Going Postal'. Moist's astonishment at how boldly Reacher Gilt was just showing the world what a conman he was, and how everyone just ignored it, comes to mind.

Couldn't have put it better myself. 👏👏👏
