I suggest sticking to the main storyline for a while, do quick NCPD missions for money, and then do side missions.

It can be so overstimulating (especially the TV commercials 😂 they’re wild).
Also you can fast travel after you finish “The Ride” mission which helps get around

Such a great game but I know what you mean! I like to pretend that I'm living there and not try to rush anything. Quite fun just wandering around and exploring and doing quests as you feel like it

Honestly, I would keep doing the main quest line until you meet Panam. The game picks up after that. The first 10 or so hours of the game are a bit of a drag but it gets better as you level up.

I played it for a bit. But the length of the game and the amount of gameplay elements turned me off. Maybe I’ll give it another shot at some point.

At the very least focus on any characters or quests that are associated with the main quest but not mandatory . You can ignore the NPCD alerts unless you want to grind or mess with the combat sandbox .
