Any idea how one might rip a model+textures+audio for a gun from the xbla version (or if it's been done already)? I've had an idea kicking around for a bit and was wondering how feasible the first step would be.

Right now the only possible way is with 3D rippers and the model output requires a lot of manual fixes so it's not recommended. @kholdfuzion.bsky.social is working on reverse engineering the model format from GoldenEye XBLA so sooner or later we'll have a way to export them properly.

The PC port does not BUT you can play it through Steam Remote play and as long as you have a good connection the experience is pretty good.

If you want to know how to set this up let me know. If your friend is close to you it should be good, I tested over 1000km and it's playable.

If you go the Remote Play Together feature your brother won't need to do anything as long as he already has Steam!

If not an alternative is to use Parsec, but I've found less delay with Steam.

Both 1964 GEPD and the Perfect Dark PC port are fully compatible with the Steam Deck! You can map gyro controls to act as mouse aim for a real smooth experience!

I have a controller layout available for both if you add them to Steam as "GoldenEye 007" and "Perfect Dark" respectively.

Crazy to me that Perfect Dark got reverse engineered before Goldeneye. Always figured it would be the reverse, not that I'm complaining!

Same. Apparently, Perfect Dark as simpler code that was much easier to decompile compared to Goldeneye (I asked in Graslu's discord server and that's what the community told me - roughly).

I absolutely love the Perfect Dark PC port. So good.

1964 has been around for over two decades, and this build has been around for over 12 years. No coyprighted content is included in it and PC ports from decompilations are 100% legal.

Also Nintendo doesn't own either game.

Nintendo went after Palworld despite the night and day differences, because Palworld had an object you could throw at an object on screen and catch it. They just haven't gone after 1964...because they don't know about it yet.

They went after a guy who made ROMs for the Comodore 64.

Yes, I think they would. That's why they've taken down every other one, its why they go after fan creations continuously, its why they went after a guy who made ROMs for the Commodore 64, a console that hasn't been made since 1994, and they got him indentured for something like $30m and put in jail.

You need to have developer mode installed and then download Xenia. On YouTube check Xbox developer mode emulator tutorial and you'll find it.
