Ojibwe word is niswaakodaabaan (pronounced niss-wah-ko-dah-bahn), and the Lakota Sioux word is hupak'in (pronounced similar to hoo-POCK-een.)

I was about to say those over long poles are obviously tent poles too 🙄 question- the double spreads the load, does it also lower the drag? 🤔

No idea, but if going over soft surfaces, the down force will be spread, so less likely to sink??? Seems likely snapping would be a problem too.
