In alchemy--the esoteric practice and philosophy, not the pop shit--the burn-down has to be complete and exhaustive before the transformation reveals itself. A woman in labor is a violent-looking, destructive-sounding creature. But stopping the labor isn't the point. Birth is. What's coming is good.

..it's just kind of a long ways off, and I doubt ANY systems we are familiar with will make it through unscathed. Which is long-term best; here's to scathing them into oblivion! The U.S. as-is sits on a throne of 18th-century bullshit; it was always going to collapse.

"Next"? Hell yes, next is worse. It's the burn-down, the labor pains. Some birth-givers die in the act, but earth won't. Earth is changing but not disappearing. I likely won't survive its change (tho I'll try to). In my weird personal eschatology, that matters less than what comes after the "next."
