As much as I want indie authors to succeed, I can't be mad at people boycotting Kindle Unlimited.
We'll never pry Amazon's chokehold off the indie community until KU and it's bullshit exclusivity clause are no longer a necessity for success.

Bookshop . org has their new ebook shop, indie books included.
Itchio is en route to become *the* platform for trans indie authors.
The authors on those platforms have bills to pay too.
If someone genuinely can't stomach giving Amazon their money and there are other options to support indie authors who ALSO deserve support, it's a logical switch to make.
However, Audible has a separate exclusivity agreement, which has the added "bonus" of lower royalties if you refuse it (which on KDP doesn't matter, it's tieds to price, not KU status).

Yes, this does include piracy sites, though if you can show that you at least tried to have the files taken down, there's leeway here.
