I want my MTV, but Sultans of Swing. I'll choose Love Over Gold. Telegraph Road is underrated and is their best track. Although Making Movies was a strong contender.

Love Over Gold is my favorite as well.
It Never Rains is the typical hidden gem that deserves way more recognition than it actually had.

Ever so slight lean to the self titled album. Arguably one of the best freshman efforts from a group. That said, Brothers in Arms is a 10/10 masterpiece that will never get old. Title track is one of my all time favorite songs.

Their debut is a gem of a record. Brothers in Arms was huge but the songs were so strong on Dire Straits. Down to The Waterline, Six Blade Knife, Sultans of Swing, In The Gallery & Lions were the backbone of the record. The other tracks weren’t too shabby either.

Their debut LP is my preference. Their first four were great, but that debut was Dylanesque pub-rock, very much influenced by JJ Cale and other American musicians. They were a different band by the time Mark's brother left the band and MTV embraced their videos.
