This is Beaky. He's a Nuthatch, at least 5 years old, and part of a science observation I'm doing. In June 2020, he flew into our picture window. My daughter, 12 at the time, was out the window and onto the roof in a flash. She held him and stroked him while he was unconscious🧵

I rescued a finch that hit our window once, was told to leave it in a box with a warm blanket until it could fly away. It is a really emotional moment when caught up in that, isn't it?
