Give a child a crayon and a blank piece of paper and just watch.
The kid, without hesitation, will just dive right into creating something. It’s inspiring because they don’t overthink it. They just have fun.

Being brutally honest with myself, professional envy. Even though I hate myself enough to feel everything I write is crap, it was hard in the early days to see people get the commissions I wanted which I thought in my more arrogant moments I was good enough to get. Definitely how to market yourself successfully in order to grow a following. Making art is fun, rewarding, and I love sharing it but all the social media takes a lot of time and effort as well!

Totally feel you on that! Balancing the creative process with marketing is a lot.. One thing that helps is setting aside specific days for creating content and scheduling posts in advance it saves so much time and stress

Allowing myself time to put the pencil down and take a break during the process of making something.

Ultimately it leads to a lot more mistakes to clean up, but it can be hard to recognise in the moment.

Thank you! That means a lot! I’m hoping to get some time lapse videos done soon! I’ve struggled with social media in the past (unwarranted ig censorship of figurative art) so I stopped sharing my work for years. I’ve finally got some confidence and passion back though!
