I might tell them about it, often vaguely, but then don't let them read a WIP. 😅

(I'm not worried about mom's reactions because I can guess them, it's everyone else I worry about.. 🤣)

I don't mind talking about being a writer, but it depends on the person asking. I might not tell everyone I write romance if I think some would be surprised that it's spicy! My parents already know and don't care haha

I'm always happy to talk about my writing.

I never told my parents because initially I fictionalized quite a bit from my family, including them, and I did not want to have to explain myself. (Only my dad is still living.) That also allowed me more freedom. (I used this pen name from the start.)

I got “found” a few years back by a few family due to my pen name on Instagram being suggested to them as an Insta follow because they were on Insta too and we were also friends under my real name on Facebook. (Ah, Meta.) It turned out ok. They loved the books and promised not to tell my father.
