I'm thinking about buying my first 3D printer. I'm currently leaning towards either a Bambu Lab A1 or an A1 Mini (both with AMS Lite). I don't have a ton of spare room, which is why I'm mostly leaning towards the A1 Mini. Will I regret that in 6-12 months? - ThreadSky

If would go for the A1, the price and footprint aren’t that much bigger than the A1mini, but yet get a much more versatile printer for your money, the larger plate will make all the difference for you.

Ps. Get yourself a ‘supertack’ plate as well when you order, makes like a lot easier.

I mean, I doubt I'll print much large stuff. However, if I ever need to, I might be able to tweak designs such that I can glue smaller pieces together? The physical footprint (and volume) of the Bambu Lab A1 Mini is so appealing to me.

(2/2) If your main concern is space and not price, I would go with the A1 and print the top mount for the AMS lite. The total footprint might actually end up smaller than an A1 mini and AMS lite side by side.

Thanks! Yeah, that's why I ended up deciding to get a Bambu Lab; I want to 3D print my projects, and not have the 3D printer itself become the project 😅

I went from an ender 3 V2 with a 200x200mm build plate to an A1 (+AMS lite) with a 256x256mm build plate. The bigger build plate has been really nice.

If you're getting an AMS lite anyway, which is fairly big on it's own you can very easily print a bracket to stick it on top of the A1 (1/2)
