This is not helpful in any way. It's purely going to drive up anxiety. That's bad public health messaging.
While I'm not claiming that this is the same situation, in 2009 two unconnected children in California were the first to test positive for the 2009 H1N1 swine flu virus that would later be called a pandemic.
