Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum threatened Thursday to sue Google after it changed the name of the Gulf of Mexico in its maps, in compliance with Donald Trump’s superficial executive order.

i don't think they could tariff or otherwise penalize that though (maybe they should if they can). but android phones are everywhere in MX cuz they're cheap. Add 25% to that and it'll sting.
I think she probably already knows this, but she and her government need to prepare for a US junta attempt to claim Mexico's territorial waters and exclusive economic zone. That's what this is about, and poking Mexico to start a war.
After years of untouchable dominance, it wouldn’t be too weird to think these companies are finally replaceable. When tech giants bend to power instead of principles, their expiration dates start to show. #BigTech #ChangingTimes #OpenSource

I love how this leader matches trump's pettiness and makes him look stupid. Weak ass old white male Democrats like chuck, Nancy etc and weak ass black male Democrats like Booker and Jefferies take note
1st I will always refer to it as the "Gulf of Mexico" but I am curious, I just do not see on what ground she's suing Google? It's a private business, they can call it whatever they want, no?
Tell her to call trump and say she was going to name something after him but won't now that he renamed the gulf of Mexico. Watch how fast he doubles back on it 🤣
The Gulf of Mexico took shape about 300 million years ago (mya) as a result of plate tectonics.[6] The Gulf of Mexico basin is roughly oval and is about 810 nmi (1,500 kilometres; 930 miles) wide. Its floor consists of sedimentary rocks and recent sediments.
It is connected to part of the Atlantic Ocean through the Straits of Florida between the U.S. and Cuba, and with the Caribbean Sea via the Yucatán channel between Mexico and Cuba. Because of its narrow connection to the Atlantic Ocean. so it's not up to the felon to just change the name
I was born and lived the first 21 years of my life on the El Paso/Juarez Border. Basically El Paso and Juarez are one city. Anyone that ever lived there prove me wrong! Most affordable place in the US to have a maid, childcare, Gardner, Mr. Fix Anything. Quit Demonizing! We ❤️our neighbors!
Even if it's only seen within the US, it should still apply only to the parts of the Gulf that are in US territory. Trump can't just rename geographical features outside the US.
I have been contemplating moving to Mexico for about a year and with her appointment and the way she’s handled the psychopath it definitely feels motivating to strongly consider it
IDEA: March against Musk-Trump from SSA HQ to CMS HQ (easy) along Security Blvd. in Woodlawn, Md. Very symbolic, friendly territory, lots of impacted Feds & beneficiaries, wide blvd, access from I-70, not far from DC, plenty of parking at agencies & deserted mall nearby.
