When I worked on my Encode Decode extension this capability is something that I specifically had to add support for because as you mutate the buffer obviously all the other offsets change.

(I realize now the way I phrased this makes it sound like you have to do one shortcut then the other, but they're actually two separate shortcuts that do similar things (just depends on if you want word or phrase basically))
