I see many folks heading back to their LA homes prematurely, risking permanent disability due to toxic air & water. Then I think of the disabled people who didn’t even make it out. I see the face of the man who died staying behind with his disabled son. He , also was in a wheelchair waiting on help. They both perished....Sad 😪 #Disabled

Me too. They actually inspired me to write this article, I wanted to tell their story and remind people that many of us can’t evacuate and need to be considered in emergency planning.

Folks in Cali need to look at the fires that happened in Rouen France a few years back
Way smaller but there was a chemical report done of how much air pollution happened and how much of that ended up in the land/water
Fire first, sickness after, worse if in the commercial foods

I'm so terrified for people returning. The danger HAS NOT passed yet to any degree, it's just cruel to set so many up like this. And I doubt much will be done, folks are still living in tents in North Carolina after hurricane season and it's been MONTHS.

It’s incredibly cruel. And appalling that people aren’t being informed of how dangerous the air is. The air quality index some days has said it’s “good”! Clearly they’re only measuring PMs and not factoring in VOCs and carcinogens. Scary stuff.
