My local CVS employees are lovely and hard-working, but I am sincerely puzzled why the things that are locked up there are not locked up at the grocery stores in the same zip code.

Here on Long Island, the Rite Aid has far more stuff locked up than the CVS. Also, half the shelves in the Rite Aid are empty.

My local Denver grocery store locks up most personal care products and detergents. Oh, and we have armed guards, no more than one checkout clerks, and have to show our receipts to the poor goons. Thanks you Kroger, which if the merger goes through will own the majority of grocery stores in Denver.

These days, about the only thing that takes me into a pharmacy is shots or a script I need immediately. Meanwhile, in southern NM, my parents’ nearest Walgreens has one of the better scotch selections in the area. (~1/3 sqft of most pharms are liquor there.)

Shopping nowadays is pulling the arm on a slot machine and hoping the product/store/location all come up cherries.
