People in Poland still tie red ribbons to baby carriages or suitcases "for good luck" (or to ward off evil eye/curses if you're elderly) and my Catholic family still keeps a large glass nazar (🧿) my dad brought back from a business trip to Turkey hanging on our wall, so...

scandinavian magic has its own ecosystem, mostly on account of the whole other range of critters and beasties you have to deal with up there

some northern scamps might be ATTRACTED by the herbs and spices used to ward off southern creatures, or vice versa
