Here in #HamOnt the major roads and some of the bike lanes look good but the solid inch of hard-packed snow on every single side street is what's keeping me off my bike (and out of my car where possible for that matter).

Also I think I'm going to start calling bylaw about some sidewalks today.

On the Danforth, it looks like the plowed the bike lanes right after the storm, but then just... let the snow fall right back from the steep banks into the lane, and haven't touched it since.

Not quite. They plowed but then ran other vehicles through again, either salters or plows with blade up, whose wheels are too wide and push the snow from the banks back into the lane. Hence the tracks on both sides and pile in the middle.

This is from Friday but same thing now.

I don't have a camera on it right now, but by my part of the danforth, you don't have a pile in the middle - just sloppy snow throughout.

It's embarassing.

Meanwhile, we're still keeping the parking to the other side of the bike lanes, which would be a perfect place for mountains of snow if we actually cared about active transportation in this city.
