I’m looking for as many groups as possible to test an adventure puzzle. (Like Unlock or Exit.) The game itself will probably last about 45 mins, and will be educational…but also fun. There will be a 5 minute survey at the start and end.

You’d need to test it sometime during February 2025.

The game will be the size of a pack of cards. I will post it to you and you get to keep the game afterwards. We’ll be able to offer a price draw (something like a first prize of £100 in vouchers to spend at a games shop) as an incentive for participation.

It’s part of research funded by the Electoral Commission, the independent regulator which monitors elections, runs referendums, and encourages people to register to vote. This game is part of an experiment to see whether gamification gives soon-to-be voters extra confidence to engage with politics.

Absolutely! The Electoral Commission is paying for 250 copies to be printed and sent to sixth forms and youth groups. However, copies can be played more than once, and while I need most feedback to be from 16-18 year olds, 18-21 year olds are also very useful…
