So doubled the power, nearly double the capacity, 4x the range, double the charge rate, all in 13 years, for a nearly equivalent price tag.

Battery development is moving at a successful pace.
Must be giving EV manufacturers headaches as to what type of battery to plan installing in the coming years models.

~5 years ago I predicted continued declines in EV prices. We don't have new EVs for $20k yet, but that's mostly due to inflation and tariffs on Chinese EVs. LUCID has a 500+ mile EV out now, maybe in 5 more years it'll cost <$35k? The transition will get real when gas stations start closing.

I think that decline would have happened in the absence of increased range. Most of those cost reductions have instead gone into longer range vehicles. We're getting close to the point where manufacturers will start pushing those cost reductions into cheaper vehicles rather than longer ranges.

Further, the market has matured so that used EVs a few years old still have low mileage and great performance at half the price of new. At the same time dealers' inventories of all vehicles is very high so it's a "buyers' market".

Got my 2020 Bolt for $21k - yes, it’s the bare bones model. Hubs loved it so got him a ‘22, dc fast charge and a little more lux (28k).
