I have been resisting the urge to buy a sewing machine and teach myself to sew for years. I mean, I did it with crochet…ADHD sucks because it can never tell which hyperfixation hobby sticks around and this one is an expensive one to risk 🫠

Grab a cheap one on sale and learn just the basics in case it doesn’t take. They are very handy to have around whether you actually sew things or not. You won’t need most of the stuff on the advanced/expensive ones anyway. (And they’re just complicated) If you get expert, then upgrade.
Buy a machine from a thrift store* and teach yourself by 'sewing' newspaper/waste white paper.
It's a great way to learn how to sew w/o wasting money on fabric you might wind up needing to throw away.
*All you really need is a straight stitch and a zigzag.
The beauty of ADHD is you can do alllll the things. I knit, crochet, sew, and have knotted a rug. It's great to task switch and never be bored. But you'll need an overlock machine, sewing machine & fabric, cotton....it is expensive to start but fun.
