You can’t do it all. Seek support in mentorship and community. Do not get into the drama of school politics. Keep everything focused on your learners, and lastly, protect your mental health.

Also try not to get overwhelmed by all of the tools and apps and strategies. Pick one of each and make it work for you. As someone else said you can never do it all and it's not fair to yourself to try. #EduSky

Seek out support as soon as you can. Find a teacher you can go to that will help you throughout the year. They don't have to be at your school either. Build your community wherever you can. #EduSky

Relationships are the key to reaching students, regardless of the subject you teach. Build relationships every day. It is not a one day “relationships building” lesson. Be genuine. Show you care.

Engagement is your first job. Needs a plan, something everyone can do right off. Students heads are elsewhere.

Draw. Stand up spin around pat your arms, head, thighs. Say in turn the best thing that happened yesterday. The worst.
Express something in your life related to the content.

1. work with & listen to other teachers (it is not a competition) 2. Know your students names & use them often 3. Laugh, cry, celebrate success, admit failure! 4. Don't give unnecessary homework 5. Attend school events if possible 6. Your 1st year is overwhelming! You can do it #EDUSky
