It's already disheartning when you post a piece of art and get 1 like after 24 hours, but mostly seeing your followers sharing more AI slop than art made by humans. (Or big artists complaining they "only" got "a few thousands" likes...)

Yeah, unfortunately, some people haven't been educated enough on A/I so can't really identify it as well as us artists can, or are just ignorant to how it harms artists. The best we can do is try to spread the word and educate people about it all, and I get that with much bigger artists and (1/2)

Unfortunately, sometimes, seeing the poor interaction some art get lead to these intrusive thought "my art sucks/interests nobody/I should stop". That an endless circle. And with the omnipresence of AI now, it's even worse.

100% feel that too, times are currently tough for creatives (and for everyone in general really) we just have to band together as creatives and support each other the best we can, and also remind ourselves that our brains can be a dingus sometimes. Into the world with what we create is worth it, cause trust me, there's a lot of silent admirers out there and what we do brightens at least 1 persons day even if they never publicly say so, also to create brings something to our own being just for us and we shouldn't let it be taken away easily 💜

It takes some time to build up here, since there's no algorithm really, things like adding tags to posts to put them in feeds, sharing, and interacting goes a long way! There's also the thing where some people won't interact with works if they don't have ALT text so that's something to keep in mind!

When we say ALT text, we mean Alternative Text, it's what you can find on images posted that describes the image. It's mostly used for those with visual impairments who have difficulty seeing the image, so ALT text is a useful tool for them! You can add this text to your images before you post (1/2)

You do whatever you want here as long as it isn't hurting anyone! General rule is sharing stuff is more beneficial than liking it. Unlike twitter it isn't full of algorithms that punish artists and those alike, so with that, likes don't necessarily push posts like clicking the share button does ^-^

Glad I could help inform! Bluesky likes do push it to certain feeds, but that's only if they get thousands of likes, it never benefits the smaller accounts. This site works based on the ability to share things, that's how stuff gets around! And oh 100%, there's so many crazily talented people here!

If their art is SFW, I will gladly repost it, but if it's NSFW and they didn't label it to where people can view it on their own terms, I'm not reposting it because some of my followers don't want to see that.

I absolutely get that! To my page I typically only share sfw stuff, I save any nsfw stuff for my secondary account that I made specifically for those things. The labelling of work is very important!! Definitely want to avoid jumpscaring people with something they did not sign up to see

I only share things with ALT text, so it's good for every artist to remember to write it. Sometimes I'll quote the post with my own ALT text as a comment if I have extra time, but if I don't I just like and follow.

It's so discouraging, especially when you're trying to make bills and rent with art. Like, personally I can't say it's a joy to have the big number under each post so much as i need more to see it and hopefully be able to buy a commission.
