Same here. I've enjoyed video game music from the NES days all the way to now, and there are some games where I could put on the soundtrack and just groove.
All sorts of stuff. Usually Nobuo Uematsu, Masayoshi Soken and Shoji Meguro. This post was specifically inspired by this @marcodmeatball.bsky.social video I watched before bed. https://youtu.be/xtwlIy9CYU0?si=Gpv_4vd_ja3LgbTF
Honestly? I don't hear it mentioned enough, but i LOVE listening to the silent hill games soundtracks. There are a bunch of ambient mixes on youtube too, and I'll just kinda turn one on and use it as background stuff while working
Ooo it’s hard to pick one. I’d say probably Final Fantasy XIV just because of the sheer volume of absolute bangers. But then again Persona 5 is probably the one I’ve listened to the most. I recently got Etrian Odyssey 3 in a steam sale but haven’t played it yet!
Small rant tho: I hate how video game music is often thought of as a genre when it shouldn't be. How could we possibly compare Persona 4, Metal Hellsinger, Deltarune, etc.
I could not sing the praises of music made for games enough but it spans every type of music.
