Can't stop thinking how foul and shitty is laying people off and saying that now the place is more agile and focused, I'm sorry for all the devs affected and I hope you find a better place soon

And you are lucky if they say the part "I hope you find a better place soon".
Back in 2014 a German company where I worked, spent a full year of money under 1 month, then they stated they would "lean" the company, but the Devs won't be affected. They fired everyone the same day without a blink.
Focused? Sure, i guess, less minds = less thoughts
Agile? how? like actually how? *starts chasing you* How do you move from one thing to another FASTER, with less people, without dropping the ball?
The answer is always that you didn't get faster, you just do a worse job for less money.
It's very dehumanizing acting as if real people's lives weren't impacted by this decision to be more "agile & focused". All the devs impacted definitely don't deserve to be treated like shed weight. I hope the devs find studios that appreciate their talents.
Corporations don't want people they want an endless supply of robots siphoning resources from the dead for the sake of allowing a few people to die in extreme luxury before the last bit of life dies out.
